MDA was a sub-consultant to CDH Partners, Architects for this project providing full Landscape Architectural services. The scope of this project involved a major building addition for classrooms and a performing arts facility. Site planning involved major changes to parking, site circulation and topography which MDA was involved in. MDA also prepared Tree Protection documents for this project.
The program involved an informal amphitheater at the rear of the performing arts building as well as an enhanced public entrance and ticket windows for the facility. MDA was tasked with designing these elements to fit into a limited budget. In order to lower maintenance needs while promoting tree and lawn health in heavily used spaces, MDA developed custom soil and subsurface drainage details to promote water infiltration into root zones below pavement and in the amphitheater terraces.
